NECROPHAGIST Frontman Disputes Promoter's Account Of BOLT THROWER's Italian Cancellation

January 20, 2006

NECROPHAGIST vocalist/guitarist Muhammed Suiçmez has refuted an Italian promoter's account of the cancellation of the group's Jan. 18 gig in Prato, Italy with headliners BOLT THROWER.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the MetalMillennium agency blamed the show' cancellation on BOLT THROWER's "rock-star' attitudes and their unprofessional attitudes that were incosistent with their supposed "punk-rock" roots.

Responding to MetalMillennium's statement, Suiçmez wrote, "I can't think of a better band to share all this with.

"All I can say is if BOLT THROWER are supposed to be rock stars, then I wanna quit the business, 'cos I wouldn't want to see the rest of the rock stars.

"Forget about the crap that's been stated by the promoters. I never would make a statement on my own fuckin' website that I don't believe in. I would rather leave the fuckin' tour.

"The guy that got electrocuted four times is Andy [from BOLT THROWER] and it did happen. We tried to sort out and solve the technical/electrical problems for hours, but the people at the club wouldn't be cooperative. They even barely spoke English.

"If you look at the ticket prices or the prices the merch goes for on this tour, then you decide if this is a rock-star tour or not. The tickets go for half the price of a regular death metal tour, sometimes less.

"So people should stop bullshitting on the net, this is a tour for the fans, where the income barely exceeds the costs for the production, and that is the case for ALL bands. Period."
